Realizing the presence, promise, and power of the Kingdom of God.

Enjoying God (PDF)

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.”

So goes the answer to the first question in The Westminster Shorter Catechism, perhaps the best known and most used of all the sum-maries of doctrine produced during the period of the Protestant Reformation.

It is significant that this question and answer are first. Paul wrote that believers in Jesus are to do all things—even down to their most everyday activities—to bring glory to God Who has saved us. Who would have guessed on his own that they might be able to glorify God—to honor and praise and lift Him up—in anything we might do, much less in everything?
